Holiday and Holiday Purchase Scheme: Take advantage of our holiday scheme to recharge your batteries, and if you're really feeling it, you can even buy some extra time off! Have the option to purchase up to two weeks extra leave or sell additional purchased leave (up to one week)
Life Leave : Far too often “life” has a habit of throwing up all sorts of challenges that get in the way and mean we end up using our annual leave for activities that are not about unwinding, relaxing, and spending quality time with others. You are entitled to Two Days of Life Leave for when you need to take time out of work for - Studying for exams (good luck), getting married (how delightful!), moving house (exciting but stressful), helping with emergency plumbing for elderly relatives (oh dear!), the chaos and operational complexities that kids can sometimes throw up (we hear you), or simply when we need a day to yourself for our own wellbeing, that this doesn’t come at the expense of our holidays.
Enhanced Primary Pay - Healios provides 6 weeks full pay + 20 weeks half pay + 13 weeks Statutory pay. In addition, we want to make sure the transition back from primary leave to work is as supportive and easy as possible. We provide an extra financial benefit to employees through our special phased transition, where employees will be able to return to their role on 50% of their contracted hours for 3 months and receive full pay.
Partner Leave - Healios offers 2 weeks fully pay after the birth or adoption of your new child and two weeks phased return receiving full pay.
Enhanced Shared Parental Leave Pay - Shared Parental Leave gives you and your partner more flexibility in how to share the care of your child in the first year after birth, than if you were simply taking maternity or paternity leave. It includes 6 weeks full pay + 20 weeks half pay + 13 weeks Statutory Pay
Pregnancy/Baby Loss Leave: We acknowledge that the loss of a baby at any stage during pregnancy is traumatic and it can be difficult to access the support needed. For those that suffer pregnancy/baby loss leave can take specific leave, for the primary parent this will be 10 days (pro-rata) paid leave and for the partner, 5 days (pro-rata) paid leave. This leave is in addition to other leave entitlements. For anyone who suffers loss from 24 weeks pregnancy, this is covered by our ‘Family Friendly policy’.
Fostering Leave: Today, 63,000 children are living with foster carers across the UK with numbers increasing all the time. Many potential foster carers may be put off fostering as they are worried about how this might work with their jobs and we feel employees shouldn’t have to make this choice or worry about how they can keep their job alongside fostering. Employees going through the foster process can request paid leave (5 days FTE) for the application process or to attend meetings and appointments required.
Neonatal Leave: Whilst we applaud that the government is proposing to introduce neonatal leave and pay this won’t be for another year at least and we don’t feel that our employees should wait that long for support during what will be a challenging time and therefore we are introducing this leave and pay for our employees early. More information is in the Family Friendly Policy which can be discussed in your initial phone call with the Healios Talent team!
